LOLA'S LIBRARY // A COMEDY CABARET SHOW
Lola's Library at "The Manor" aboard Virgin Voyages' Cruise Ship "Resilient Lady" redefines evening entertainment by transforming an intimate theater and nightclub into a spectacular cabaret adventure. This immersive experience of a variety show and the vibrant energy of a nightclub. The show is led by the charismatic "Lola the Librarian" and her quirky ensemble, Dewey and Mary.
The show was created by No Ceilings Entertainment and the mission was to infuse the Resilient Lady with unmatched late-night allure, utilizing The Manor, a State-of-the-Art venue designed by "Roman and Williams", No Ceilings crafted a narrative driven, 1-2 hour late night experience, inviting the guests of the cruise ship to choose their adventure, more freely, and engage with the unfolding story.
Because the cast rotates every 5-6 months, a new team of performers must learn the show from scratch. In 2024, I was brought on as choreographer for Lola's Library, joining the creative team that ensures smooth transitions for each cast change. No Ceilings Entertainment, the creators of the show, have built a strong roster of choreographers and directors who are trained in the production. This allows any member of the creative team to step in and lead the show whenever a new cast is onboarded.
Each new creative team member brings their own style and energy to the production, making every iteration of the show unique. After completing rehearsals, typically held in Orlando, Florida, the crew heads to the ship for a 10-day installation process to bring the show to life.
Since joining the team in 2024, it's been an exciting and rewarding experience to work with No Ceilings Entertainment and create something special for Virgin Voyages.

The show is split into three sections throughout the night, each guiding the audience into a different genre of writing that perfectly mirrors the essence of a library. The first section, "Fantasie and Fairytales," enchants the audience with whimsical storytelling and magical visuals. The second, "Crime and Horror," plunges them into a thrilling and suspenseful atmosphere. Finally, the third section, "Mr. Dick’s Book of Lovers," explores tales of passion and romance with a playful twist.
Aligning with Virgin Voyages' brand ethos, we have woven beloved stories like Snow White and Harry Potter into our performances, creating a rich tapestry of music, costumes, and storytelling. By blending these classic narratives with pop culture, queer references, and a touch of nostalgia, we ensure every guest finds something relatable and captivating.
Lola's Library breaks away from traditional theater formats by fostering fluid audience interaction. With "activated downtimes," guests are free to relax, converse, or dance, truly making the space their own. The narrative is divided into three distinct "chapters," each offering a standalone experience. This format allows guests the flexibility to enjoy a single chapter in one night or return on different evenings to uncover more of the story, ensuring that every visit offers something new and exciting.
