"The Ring" is a musical by Frank Nimsgern and Daniel Call, inspired by Richard Wagner's epic poem, "Nibelungenlied." I was fortunate enough to be brought onto the project as the Assistant to Star Choreographer and Creative Director Marvin A. Smith.
Our team was responsible for creating the choreography for the entire musical, which was a challenging, but rewarding experience. Working with Marvin and the rest of the creative team was a truly memorable experience, and I feel honored to have been a part of such a talented and dedicated group of artists.
After its premiere in 2007 at the Theater Bonn and a new production in 2016/2017 at the Theater Hof, the revised and adapted version of the musical will now be performed for the first time at the beautiful Ludwigs Festspielhaus, located on the picturesque Forggensee, directly opposite Schloss Neuschwanstein, which was famously built by the ardent Wagner admirer King Ludwig II. This marks a full circle for the musical.
